Ophir Utah Property
Bullion Monarch Mining owns a 100% interest in five patented claims, Prince of Wales, Prince of Wales No.2, Prince of Wales No. 4, Prince of Wales No.5 and Commodore Lode Claims.
The patented claims are located approximately 40 miles southwest of Salt Lake City, Utah, near the top of the Oquirrh Mountain Range. The property is approximately 10 miles southwest of Kennecotts Bingham Copper Mine, the largest open pit mine in the U.S that has operated for over 100 years. It also lies only 4 miles east of American Barrick’s Mercur Gold Mine.
There are two underground mines on the property with recorded production. These mines are the Commodore and the Prince of Wales. These mines were operated from 1927 to 1941 with a total reported production of 5,228 tons averaging 16.13 ounces of silver per ton and 20.55 percent lead. The bulk of the claim area is underlain by nearly all of the Paleozoic sedimentary sections. Historically from the large producing mines, bordering to the south, there are at least 17 sedimentary horizons in this section that have produced ore bodies. Many of these horizons have produced large replacement ore bodies. The potential of finding these types of ore bodies at depth within the claims are very good.
Bullion Monarch Mining’s claims have been surrounded on all sides by Kennecott claims. The company has been contacted by Kennecott who was granted permission to study the geology and perform geophysical testing in 2008. Since that time, both Kennecott and Freeport McMoran have contacted the company concerning their interest in Bullion Monarch’s patented claims.
Bullion Monarch Mining Inc. has again positioned itself in the center of another major mineral producing trend. Past production in the immediate area is noteworthy and major company activity and interest suggests the Ophir Property potential is significant.
